"Pedro Rebelo de Sousa sees a "recessionary wave" as unavoidable and warns that when it starts it is difficult to stop: "We are going into stagflation".
After 46 years of activity in the areas of finance and law in Brazil, the US and Portugal, Pedro Rebelo de Sousa will step down from the executive positions at SRS, which he created in 2009, to take on a position comparable to that of chairman. Rebelo de Sousa told PÚBLICO that he had a "flashback" on his life, which led him to recall episodes from his time in Kiev in the late 1990s: "Every other year, Russia cut off Ukraine's gas.
He entered the legal profession in 1993, at Simmons & Simmons, after working for Citigroup and before returning to Portugal to lead the first privatisation, that of Banco Fonsecas & Burnay (BFB)."
