«Rodrigo Ascensão, Managing Director of SRS Legal, believes that ‘AI is an excellent lever for speed and rigour in legal work’ as it allows, for example, ‘easily finding the best contractual clauses for a given contract, drafting first versions of contracts or selecting the most relevant content in due diligence mandates’. Even so, the manager warns that its use must be seen ‘as a support to the work of lawyers and not as a substitute for it.’
The managing director of SRS Legal states that, ‘as the technological dimension of the legal services world is undergoing a profound transformation’, SRS has adopted ‘a “test and learn” strategy’. With this, the law firm seeks to integrate new AI tools into its processes and ‘retain those that best adapt to [its] needs.’ At the same time, says the manager, ‘we are reinforcing the training and dissemination of these new tools to users in order to boost effective adoption [of AI]’.
‘If today these tools are already a reality and potentially a differentiating factor in the market, I believe that in 3 years they will be a ‘standard’ and anyone who doesn't have them will have a significant competitive disadvantage,’ points out Rodrigo Ascensão.»
