The Conference The Challenges of Regulation in the Sustainable Blue Economy, in partnership with Fórum Oceano, took place on 25 September in the SRS Legal Auditorium and also in streaming format.
Under the guidance of moderators and leading speakers, topics such as:
- The "Challenges of decarbonising ports and maritime transport: trends in European regulation" - a keynote speech by Ana Paula Vitorino (President of the Mobility and Transport Authority);
- "From the Economy of the Sea to Blue Financing (Blue Bonds and ESG)", a panel made up of Renata Serradeiro (CEO of Flatlantic - Actividades Piscícolas), João Rito (Ceo of BlueBio Alliance), Frederico Serras Gago (Founder of Front Capital), Jorge Freire Cardoso (CEO of Caixa Banco de Investimento) and Américo Carola (Coordinating Director of Investment Banking at Millennium bcp), moderated by Ruben Eiras (Secretary General of Fórum Oceano);
- "Water and Energy: From Desalination to Ocean Renewable Energies", a panel that included Christopher Patton (CEO of Alphacor), Carlotta Gradissimo (Mainstream Renewable Power), José Pinheiro (Ocean Winds) and Pedro Andrade e Sousa (Managing Director of Sal d'Água), moderated by Gonçalo Anastácio (Partner at SRS Legal);
- And "The authorities' perspective", an interview conducted by Alexandre Roque (Partner at SRS Legal) with Marisa Lameiras da Silva (Director-General for Maritime Policy) and José Manuel Marques (Director of Environment and Sustainability Services at the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services).
The conference was opened by Carlos Costa Pina - Partner at SRS Legal - and Antonio Nogueira Leite - President of Fórum Oceano - followed by the signing of a co-operation agreement between SRS Legal and Fórum Oceano.
The closing ceremony was attended by Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, Managing Partner of SRS Legal and José Maria Costa, Secretary of State for the Sea.
