SRS Advogados has launched a new practice area, specialising in the Law of Vineyards and Wine, with the aim of improving its client services in this economic sector, which is of great importance to Portugal.
"This practice area is a multidisciplinary project with a team that combines skills in the legal areas of 'industrial property, projects, commercial, fiscal, employment and regulation'", notes Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, Mananging Partner of SRS Advogados.
"This new area responds to the growing importance of the viticulture sector of the past few years which has resulted from an increase of Portuguese exports. It is our objective to give holistic legal support to businesses in this sector and to respond to their national and international investment needs", highlights Gonçalo Moreira Rato, Of Counsel at SRS Advogados, responsible for the Law of Vineyards and Wine practice area.
According to AICEP, "Portugal is Ranked 5th in Europe as a wine producing country. The wine sector accounts for 50% of the total agricultural turnover, with approximately 13 thousand companies emploing 28% of the agricultural workforce".
In light of the creation of this new area, SRS Advogados will organise an event in November, to which it will invite viticulture sector specialists from Portugal and abroad.
