SRS Advogados Senior Partner, Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, has been unanimously elected as President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese India Business Hub. The Portuguese India Hub is a platform that was created to develop relations and business between India, Portugal and the Indian diaspora.
The primary role of this platform is to bring together the various Portuguese communities of Indian origin to promote business in Portugal, India and also in countries such as Angola, Brazil, England and Mozambique.
Pedro Rebelo de Sousa as President of the General Assembly of this new platform stated: "It is with great pleasure that I will make my contribution to the development of economic relations between Portugal and India, with a commitment to work on the economic, social and cultural growth of both countries".
The creation of the Portuguese India Business Hub was formalised by three agreements between the two countries involving AICEP, the Reira Group for the creation of PIBHub Goa and the ICC - Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, other agreements were signed with the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, the Universidade do Minho, the Laboratório Ibérico de Nanotecnologia de Braga and a group of Indian scientific institutions. The focus will be on agriculture, construction, energy (wind and solar), hotels, infrastructure (airports, ports, roads), logistics, real estate, tourism and waste and water.
