SRS Legal is proud to announce a change in its leadership, with César Sá Esteves and Octávio Castelo Paulo being elected as the firm's new Managing Partners.
This election is demonstrative of the firm's institutional commitment which will remain focused on preserving SRS Legal's leading position in the legal profession in Portugal, innovatively built over the last three decades under the leadership of Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, who now takes on the role of Senior Partner.
César Sá Esteves had been heading SRS Legal’s Employment Department and Octávio Castelo Paulo the Corporate & Finance and TMT Department, each with extensive experience and an outstanding reputation in their respective areas of practice.
A new Board of Directors was also elected at the General Meeting in question, which will be chaired by Pedro Rebelo de Sousa and composed of the newly appointed Managing Partners, César Sá Esteves, Octávio Castelo Paulo, as well as Partners José Luís Moreira da Silva, Alexandra Valente, Gonçalo Anastácio, Alexandre Roque and Maria José de Tavares.
For Pedro Rebelo de Sousa, “This is the end of a meticulously planned and thoughtfully executed process to ensure a smooth and effective transition. It was first considered in 2018/19, then suspended with the pandemic and finally resumed in 2021, to prepare for the renewal of SRS Legal and ensure its future as a benchmark institution in the national legal profession. This process was accompanied by a comprehensive advanced training programme aimed at strengthening the management skills of SRS Legal’s partners and equipping the firm with new leadership profiles capable of ensuring the renewal of practices and the firm’s sustainability in the medium and long term. ’I am extremely happy that this process has been carried out smoothly, with a unanimous vote at the General Meeting. César and Octávio are respected professionals and excellent people; having been with SRS Legal since its inception, they represent its present and future; I am certain, they will live up to the successful track record of this 30-year strong project."
"It is with a strong sense of service and commitment, as well as with great pride and enthusiasm that we take on our new roles. Respecting Pedro's enormous legacy, which we are committed to continuing, our goal is to reinforce SRS Legal as a firm of excellence within the national legal profession, consolidating its reputation and ensuring its future sustainability ", say César Sá Esteves and Octávio Castelo Paulo.
This milestone in SRS Legal's history is not just a change in leadership; it is a clear affirmation of its institutionalisation and its commitment to continuous innovation and growth. The firm underwent a complete rebranding in 2022, based on the values of Agility, Empathy, Innovation and Sustainability.
