Ana Menéres represents SRS Legal at the Medica AI Conference at the Champalimaud Foundation

In celebration of the AI Appreciation Day on July 16, at Champalimaud Foundation, SRS Legal was represented by Ana Menéres, Head of the Life Sciences Department in the Medica AI Conference.

According to SRS Legal's Partner, "the word is regulation, regulation, regulation! The application of AI in healthcare is amazing, in diagnosis, in treatment, in R&D. The scientists are doing their job, as legal service providers, we try do ours by being updated, by providing solutions to our clients within the legal context. Which are the IP rights that need to be protected is the first question, are there IP rights that can be protected? AI applied to healthcare with a diagnosis or treatment purpose will qualify as a rule as a medical device, which is the path that needs to be followed for commercialization of a medical device? Is it a medical device or not? These are some of the questions with legal relevancy that were raised during the day by the doctors of the Champalimaud Foundation, HealthAI, Lisbon School of Medicine, Google Health, Prológica, Hopecare, Knokcare, Uphill, Digestaid, Centro Hospitalar de Coimbra, with a majestic closing session by the artist Tupac Martir."
